As you’re aware our August period started with a BANG as the Team introduced the Royal Game of Thrones on its website and discord; A player competition for the last Free Joker in the kingdom.
With three of the fifteen Golden Tickets already collected for the final round, there are still many opportunities ahead, but will begin to be limited opportunities as gamification kicks in. This meaning that in order to put forth guesses in the Second Mission, you must hold a gilded card to enter. This is surely to lead to RF, Eternals, and Joker pools going forward, so make every guess count. Or prepare some of that hard earned $ROYAL to buy a joker’s seat at the table. There may be one or two takers.
From a neutral corner, I look forward to beating out @Elmwood for the remaining Golden Tickets that I’m able to participate in as he is the current leader with TWO Golden Tickets.
Aside from the RGOT, there have been several ongoing conversations about the happenings in our community and we thought relevant to share some insights, FWIW.
First, a quick thought on the elephant in the room which is the current floor price. As we all know there are many ways to look at an NFT project and the space is so early that we’re all still learning, including the Team and our players. That doesn’t mean that the floor price isn’t important because it is as it’s the first thing players in this space see and the main element they look at when evaluating a project, and that’s fine, but there are also players that want to build something for the future.
Given everything that’s transpired over the last six months in the global macro environment and internal complications with deliverables whether that’s vendor quality or unknowable impact of an ERC-20 token, or something else, the goal remains the same, engagement, which then translates into price appreciation.
Second, this summer has been big on deliverables from the Royal Scorecard, Royal Portal, $ROYAL Token, Royal Games Portal, Transferring $ROYAL, Staking RSOP Cards for $ROYAL and now a Competitive ROYAL ROYALE it looks like the final pieces are falling into place. With the imminent drop of the marketplace the excitement is building and new members are arriving daily.
As Fall approaches and we all return from our outdoor adventures, I look forward to seeing you on the other side of the tables, head-to-head on the arcade leader boards and fighting for words on the Five Letter Frenzy. #STAYROYAL
Cryptocurrency and NFT news
As we all know 2022 has been a challenging year, not just for our IRL happenings but our Metaverse pivot. Without going to far down the rabbit hole a quick mark-to-market shows us that ETH has fallen 55.81%Y/Y to US$1,532.72 as of this writing.
There are a plethora of events that have led us to this level, but zooming in on a few include the market’s misperception of the hawkish of the FED on its September rate hike, the geopolitical tensions in Europe and Asia, as well as the overall state of NFT governance and IP rights.
From the NFT angle, there are three major events that are shaping the future of this space. The BAYC trademark lawsuit against Ryder Ripps, the CCO rights shift by Moonbirds and Proof founder Kevin Rose, and the inevitable regulation that’s going to be front and center during the US Congressional mid-term elections in November 2022.
Although the BAYC and Moonbirds actions are the canary in the coal mine for how the Metaverse rights and infringements could play out for current and future projects, a more pressing topic is the coming US regulatory environment.
There are many reasons to delve deeper into this issue, but the two main reasons are which regulator and how the global central banks are going to implement their CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies). Whether the CFTC or the SEC gain oversight of the cryptocurrency universe is especially important as the head of the SEC has hinted at a much more restrictive approach. This could lead many NFTs and their ERC-20 tokens that have not yet gone to zero soon see many traders heading for the exit as the SEC chairman has commented that most alt coins are securities and should be regulated as such. The second key reason for understanding the coming government structure of the space has to do with the stable coins.
At the moment, China has the eRMB in a pilot program proving their model works for their online population, although it’s not a decentralized currency, it’s sufficient for their needs according to the government. With most Western nations now beginning their research on the possibility of issuing their own stablecoins or CBDCs, an article from media website Decrypt on August 30th speaks to the direction all of this is going.
According to the article, an Argentine province is allowing millions of its residents to pay their taxes in stablecoins. From everything that we’ve seen across the blockchain, we know that the US government cannot put the genie back in the bottle as it pertains to cryptocurrencies. It can however assign a regulator that minimizes the issuance of alt coins as they did in 2018 with ICOs. (Sources: Bloomberg; Coindesk; Decrypt; WSJ.)
The Royal Treasury
As we continue our unprecedented journey through a COVID pandemic, global energy crisis, and geopolitical tensions, the global macro environment remains uncertain.
Over the course of FY2022, the Royal Society of Players’ Treasury has had several additional revenue streams come online from our sister project, the House of First, augmenting our primary and secondary commissions at RSOP. However, under the weight of the global macro and skepticism of would be “new money” entrants, our Treasury has become trickier to manage.
As such, a formal “Royal Council” consisting of members from our community is being established to augment Landmark Ventures Metaverse Team’s capacity to actively manage the Community Treasury. The process of choosing candidates that will serve an initial four month term, ending December 2022, has begun. Any cardholder can self-nominate, read the candidates statements on the website and vote for their choice. The deadline to enter is September 2nd, 12:00 EST, and the vote will run from September 2nd to September 7th 15:00 EST.
In terms of the Royal Treasury Summary, our current ETH equivalent balance as of August 2nd, stands at 564.14. This includes a combination of ETH, NFTs and alt coin nodes that produce a steady stream of USD revenues back to the treasury. This section is dedicated to the relentless efforts put into a daily Alpha note by our own, Ralph Q.
If you’ve tapped into the #Alpha-channel or sat in on his Royal House of Alpha Twitter spaces (now merged with the Collectors Twitter spaces) you know that Ralph is an amazing individual with deep insights to the degen lifestyle and interests.
Since the beginning of the year, Ralph Q has researched and dissected dozens of projects and delivered intricate analysis daily. We appreciate you Ralph and wanted to make sure we noted that appreciation in our inaugural newsletter.

Global Royal Session
As our community expanded beyond the borders of the United States, a pair of Remarkable Eternals (Remarkable Women ambassadors from our sister project House of First that jumped into RSOP with gusto sweeping up a pair of Eternals and more than a few Royal Flushes) began a broad marketing strategy of IRL meetups in international locales as well as empowering initiatives with our Young Leaders.
Through a series of Asian Twitter Spaces a groundswell began to form and has taken hold across the international markets ranging from Hong Kong, Perth, Shanghai, Sydney, and Taipei in Asia to Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE. And we’re just getting started.
Beginning with a Young Leader Chess initiative and adhering to a formula of Kids teaching Kids, RemarkableBee showcased the possibilities of Web3 learning, the strategy has taken root and has continued to grow. Look out for more educational events in September and beyond.
The Young Leader Initiative was the brainchild of RemarkableBee and Joker #12. Through their concerted efforts and working in tandem with the RW Global network they’ve shown a structured approach to building global communities.
From our global to domestic ambassadors, the RSOP network has it covered. Whether its Remarkable Eternals RemarkableBee and Sopoba building out the global educational network or Diamond Doll and Tony Bravado changing lives with their Web3 education seminars, RSOP and H1 are well positioned to not only weather the “Crypto Winter” but also build through it and beyond.
Royal Announcement
Another Remarkable moment has taken place on August 10, 2022, when Royal Society welcomed our newest member of the Joker Club @2Cool. Some say her Joker#2 is the perfect Joker with its Imperial Purple card and surface, clear color, and aristocratic martini glass and others find it hard to disagree.
After growing up in Hong Kong and traveling overseas for her education, first in the UK and later in Canada, 2Cool Joker2 found her way back to Hong Kong in regulatory finance.

Fast forward to today and 2CoolJoker2 has not only laid a path for women in finance but also in Web3 where she’s helped set up three industry organizations: the Asia Crypto Alliance, and the female-focused Satoshi Women as well as the Digital Women Leadership Network, which has been rebranded as W3W (Web3 Women).
A true visionary and passionate crypto enthusiast, the addition of 2CoolJoker2 to our family is a true win for our community. We’re excited to welcome her to our Royal Family and look forward to informed guidance and leadership from such an accomplished and passionate human being.
